Beyond Words

When the body speaks

An Authentic Movement Experience

What might you discover when you stop telling your body how to move and begin listening instead?

Much of our movement throughout the day is directed by what needs to happen next—where we need to go, what we need to accomplish, how we need to respond.

Authentic Movement offers something different.

It is a practice of turning your attention inward and allowing movement to emerge from sensation, impulse, emotion, imagery, or simply the desire to be still.

What is Authentic Movement?

Authentic Movement is an embodied practice centered around inner listening. Rather than following choreography or being shown how to move, you are given space to notice what arises when the body is allowed to lead.

Movement can be expansive or almost imperceptible. You might sway, stretch, gesture, walk, shift your weight, lie down, become completely still, or discover something unexpected.

There is no movement to perform and no particular outcome to achieve.

The practice becomes an opportunity to become curious about your own internal experience—and what may become visible when you listen differently.

The Experience

During Beyond Words: When the Body Speaks, you’ll be guided through a gentle arrival and warm-up before entering an Authentic Movement exploration.

With eyes closed, you’ll have space to follow your own movement impulses while Aletia Giselle serves as the witness—a quiet, attentive, nonjudgmental presence within the space.

After moving, we’ll transition into creative reflection through art and writing, followed by space for optional sharing and integration.

The experience may include:

  • Gentle grounding and embodied preparation

  • Guided Authentic Movement exploration

  • Individual movement with witnessing

  • Creative reflection through art and writing

  • Optional sharing and integration

No dance experience is needed.

Come curious. Move at your own pace.

See what your body has to say.
